In 2023, around 11 million Indonesians still lacked access to proper sanitation, while more than 88% of diarrhea cases were linked to poor sanitation. Beyond its impact on health, inadequate sanitation also makes it difficult for communities to maintain proper personal hygiene, which is essential for both physical and spiritual well-being.

Through the MCK Program, Design Studio NA collaborated with Tharah to provide proper bathing, washing, and toilet facilities for the community. The initiative is designed to improve access  access to sanitation, support healthier daily living, and create a better quality of life through a simple, sustainable, and community-focused approach.

The building is designed to adapt easily to locally available materials and resources. Using simple conventional construction methods that are commonly used, well known to local workers and strong against weather conditions all over Indonesia.
